Hi, so i use (d) filecr a lot, and it works great for macos apps, but then i went to download a program for windows from them. I opened the application and it was working fine, then i saw a zip folder named keygen in the main folder, i thought maybe it generates. Since filecr is no longer safe what is the best way to track what a program install on your machine?
Personally, i use appnee to find and install.
Ive seen a lot of posts asking whether filecr.com is safe. Fmhy said filecr is the bad actor but if you look at the offending files, they're the same ones that get shared on sanet before that and pretty much any other public site. Before installing some stuff from filecr (no adobe, not the apps named in the list) i checked them on virus total and were safe. I know filecr is recommended in the megathread, but i recently have been starting to question how safe it is?

If i recall correct, fmhy collection list filecr to untrusted source because slow response to uploader that upload malware.
